Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Shion! I’m a Seattle-based digital artist, originally from the DMV area where I first started my art journey.My work focuses on detailed, anime-style character illustration, and feature vibrant color palettes, clean linework, glassy textures. I’m still learning a lot and trying to explore new things!Growing up as a queer Chinese American, I struggled with severe depression. Anime, J-music, and alternative subcultures became my safe space, even when I was ostracized for loving them. I guess that’s why I’m drawn towards media with heavy or tragic themes, but my goal is to ultimately find hope at the end of it. I draw to share my love for anime and cute things, but more than that, I want my art to reach anyone struggling, give them a happy place, and remind them they aren't alone.Today, I balance a full-time office job while making art, running my online store, and tabling at conventions across America.
